Have Questions?

a single license of PTCAD can only install on one computer and able to transfer license to new computer in case that want to change the PC however concurrent usage is not available.

Absolutely not! PTCAD Lite is a specially designed CAD solution that caters to the needs of those who prioritize speed and efficiency over advanced features. While it maintains all the basic DWG functionality of PTCAD, it has a different development roadmap that optimizes the code and features for speed. Our goal is to continuously improve both the size and speed of PTCAD Lite with each new version of PTCAD Lite we release.

The PTCAD program can work with 3D files in the DWG format. It also has the ability to create basic 3D shapes using basic geometric commands, or by extrusion, and can interact with various objects such as Unite, Subtract, and Intersect.

Details of the 3D file formats supported by PTCAD:

For Solid 3D objects, the files can be opened in PTCAD, but they cannot be edited.

For 3D modeling, you can move the WCS axis for extrusion to create more complex shapes at various levels.

  • .DWG / .DXF – Supports both 2D and 3D (AutoCAD standard files)
  • .DGN – Supports certain versions (MicroStation)
  • .SAT – Not supported
  • .STL – Can be opened but cannot be edited
  • .OBJ – Can be opened but cannot be edited
  • .STEP / .IGES – Not supported

Another interesting 3D type that can be created exclusively in PTCAD is the AEC Entity, which is created using the AEC Basic command. When viewed from the top view, the object appears as 2D but can still be moved using the selection and dragging method.

For PTCAD PLUS users, our program allows you to select whether to enable or disable the operation of auxiliary functions such as AEC Plus, AEC Library, or MEC. This helps improve the speed of file opening and the program’s performance, or based on the nature of your work. You can enable or disable the plugins following these steps:

  1. On the Home page, before opening or closing, ensure that you close the currently running files.
  2. Go to the Manage tab.
  3. Click on Plug-ins Loader.

When you click the command, the Plug-ins Loader window will appear on the screen.

  1. Select the plugins you want to enable.
  2. Then, click OK.

Afterward, click NEW or Open to update the program.

Finally, click OK.

Adjust PTCAD to return to the familiar interface with Classic Mode.

If you’re familiar with Classic Mode and want to switch back to the old-style menu in PTCAD, switching modes is easy! This guide will help you switch the UI from Ribbon Mode to Classic Mode in just a few clicks.

  1. On the workspace page, look at the Status Bar at the bottom right of the screen.

  2. Select PTCAD Classic.

  3. Click the gear icon (settings) to toggle.

That’s it! The program’s interface will change to Classic Mode immediately.

Note: Classic Mode does not support AEC PLUS commands. For users who use commands from the AEC Plus function set, the team recommends using Ribbon Mode instead.

Return License, Change Machine Manual

If a user needs to move their machine or install a new operating system, they should return the license key to the server in order to be able to enter it on the new machine or the same machine after a system reinstall. Follow the steps below:

  1. Open the PTCAD License Manager through the shortcut icon or from the PTCAD program.
  2. In the PTCAD Shortcut Icon, the License Manager can be found under the Help tab.
  3. Once the PTCAD License Manager is open, select License Information.
  4. Click on the License tab to select the key you want to return, then click Return this license to the server.
  • If a message appears like “Remove license” and the key cannot be added to the new machine, please contact PTCAD Support or report the issue at: https://cs.pt-cad.com/

The user can now enter the key on the new machine.

Once you click, another confirmation message will appear. Click YES to confirm the return process.

The program will provide another warning message. Close any related programs to ensure the license key is fully returned. When reopening the program, it will be in Demo Mode once again, and you will not be able to save or print.

  • Warning: If the key is entered on multiple machines or if the Wi-Fi connection is changed too often, the security system may block the user’s key. If your key is blocked and cannot be entered, please contact Support for further verification or to report the issue at: https://cs.pt-cad.com/.
  • Before starting, the user should close the program.

  • In the system’s search box, type PTCAD 2025 Default Setting and select it to start the program.

  • A confirmation message will appear. Click Yes to proceed.

  • After clicking, a message will appear confirming that the program has been reset. Then, the program can be opened and used as normal.

  1. Type the command AUDIT in the PTCAD Command Line and press Enter.

  2. PTCAD will ask if you want to automatically repair the file or not:

    • If you answer Yes: The system will check and fix any errors in the file.
    • If you answer No: The system will display a message indicating the errors found in the file but will not repair them.

Using the AUDIT command helps ensure the file is stable and operates correctly.

The program will report the number of errors found and the number of errors corrected in the command bar.

In PTCAD, the AUDIT command is used to check and repair files that may have issues or errors during recording or usage. This is especially useful when working with files that have corrupt or missing data, such as incomplete or faulty objects.

When you first launch the program, a window will appear showing the remaining trial days. You can enter the license key you received by clicking Activate License.

If the trial period has expired, or if the notification window does not appear as shown in the image above, go to the Help tab and select the License Manager icon to access the command.

Once the PTCAD License Manager window is opened, go to the License Key tab.

Enter the received key and click the Activate button.

After entering the key successfully, you can check the status by clicking the License Information tab. The program will display the details of the key in use.

Afterward, you can close the License Manager program, exit PTCAD, and restart the program to update the status. This completes the Activate License process, and you can start using PTCAD.
